Infromation | The name "Kaneyama" is said to have come from the Taniguchi Silver Mine, also known as "eternal treasure." It is said the mine was discovered by Kaneuri Kichiji, who served 12C Military commander Minamoto Yoshitsune, and it flourished for around 20 years between 1624 to and 1651. A flood occurred within the mines later on, which led to its permanent shutdown in 1845. Tours within a section of the mine are provided today by the local preservation society. Tours require reservations in advance. |
