Infromation | The "Shogenji Temple" was originally constructed in 1536 as the family temple of Sadatsuna Tenzen Sakenobe, who was the castellan of Sakenobe Castle. The temple gate was actually transferred from Dainichibo Temple in Mt. Yudono in 1961. Nio Buddhist statues and giant straw sandals are placed on both sides of this magnificent gate. The temple is notable for having a railroad crossing right at the entrance. |
