| Infromation | Shirakawa Valley is a breathtaking nature spot offering beautiful sights of the seasons such as lush greenery in the spring, bright foliage in the fall autumn and landscapes covered by snow in the winter. The autumn foliage is especially beautiful, and the reflections of the leaves with the afternoon sun on the waters are spectacular. The upper stream is a popular fishing spot with chars and trout swimming about. The Mogami Shirakawa Keiryu Park is located by the lower streams where people can enjoy camping and barbecues. Also in the valley is the historic Mogami Shirakawa Sand-trap Dam, which is an "important landscape structure" as designated by Yamagata prefecture. |
