Infromation | "Niwatsuki Kannon" is a temple by the banks of the Sakegawa River. It is the 33rd and last temple of the Mogami Kannon pilgrimage route traveled by many. The floating lantern ceremony for sending off spirits on August 18 is considered to be one of the most spectacular events in east Japan. The reflections of the brightly glowing lanterns on the river are a fantastic sight. |
